Just finished another dungeon! It's a giant sinkhole under the city with some puzzles. Lots of fun to play hopefully!

April fools on the web

So I was surprised this year. No sites did a really cool april fools joke. There was the panda computer on google but they did much better years better. Youtube had a neat one, all the videos were upside down for awhile. But theres was a lot better before too. I remember when they rickrolled everyone from the main page.

One of the japanese sites made me laugh. They announced a new dragon quest rpg game was coming out that night and people lined up all over the place for it. Hilarious pictures on the web about it

But sad news too. Gameclover posted that they are only going to make rpgmaker xp resources from now on... I thought it was only an april fools joke but the post is still up there. I'm very sad :(

Playing world of goo

Playing world of goo right now. I really really suck at these bridge physics puzzles. Some of the other levels are pretty cool. I loved the one where you started in the intestines then worked your way up to the balloons in the sky. 2dboy made an awesome game and I hope it wins big awards or something. Wish my games and those by people I knew would be anywhere near as cool as world of goo and the gooballs

Saw a cool link when looking for tycoon games. Some developer letting people sell his videogames and keep all money. Had thought about selling my own rpg so this sounds like good opportunity :) Aveyond did alright... might try to see if I can sell any of his first

Just letting everyone know a rpg demo will be out soon! My game is almost at the point where its worth showing off some stuff about it to other people. Might be a couple hours playtime in it if I can get this dungeon working properly.

Still need a better name for it too :D

Designing the perfect castle

I had a lot of trouble making a castle earlier today. The autotiles kept giving me trouble all over the place. But Big_Ed came through! Saw a tutorial of his on a rpg maker site that told us all how to use the shift key putting them down. My castle looks much better now.

Got some new monsters too. They're so hard to find for rpg maker vx! I'm now using some cool final fantasy sprites that were posted about on the rmvx gameclover site. Terra makes a great monster in esper form. Wish the rpg editor itself came with more than 8 monsters.

Snow weather effects

Trying to make a snowy area and saw a weird problem. The snow effect in Rpg Maker VX? It's too damn hard to see. Almost unnoticable against the snow! Which I guess might make sense but doesn't make it a cool weather effect to use in a RPG. What else can I use? I don't want to do the annoying snowstorm mist they had in the Eternal Eden game. That dungeon was way too hard to see in in a totally bad way

If you use RPg maker too you might want to check this out --- Sg and the gameclover guys justed a huge vegetable icon collection! Awesome. I'm going to replace potions with edible fruits and vegetables that heal you instead.

Something weird is going on at the gameclover site. Anyone know why their rpg monster graphics section was replaced by something about a rpg maker 2003 battle? Maybe it was hacked. Weird! Wanted to use some of them. Hope they fix that problem soon.

In other news I'm still trying to think of a name for my new rpg. The new rpg name generator at random zoo isn't being much help.

Can't come up with a name for my rpg empire game. At the moment it's just called Arshes Tyranny named after the Rpg Maker XP mascot character but that was only supposed to be temporary. Gloria is his queen with Hilda doing the magic support. Cyrus and Finley (I can't remember his real name, that's his name from Master of the Wind) are the rebels along with kobolds.

I haven't done much on it lately. Right now I'm being distracted by a cool vampire game I found out about yesterday. Well, it was cool. Until I got to some stupid hotel maze thing and the sewers. Whoever designed that part of Vampire masquerade bloodlines was not a good game designer!

Did some reading about another rpg maker game that was for sale too, Laxius Force. What the hell were they thinking with that description and demons that try to rape people?

Well I'm back now :D Back to work on the game too it seems. Had a lot of new ideas while I was taking a break. Especially for new rpg dungeons. Some of you will hate the new things I came up with! Assuming I can figure out how to make them inside rpg maker

A bigger message and some drawings is posted on some of the rmvx message boards I go to and a project post. Go read them :) You know where they are or else you wouldn't be reading this blog!

Taking a break

My dad needs some help with his business so I won't be able to work on my game anymore for awhile. Then I have to go to military school. I'll still remember this game deep in my heart and one day I will return to making it.

Hi guys. I'm Solas. You might've seen me around some message boards! Right now I'm using Rpg Maker VX to make a cool little game you might like. I'd still like it if you don't. This program is really nice for newbies, reminds me of rpg maker 2003

I was thinking it'd be a quick little thing about a small group of heroes conquering an empire. Sure, that's a RPG Cliche, but...

In this game you play as the empire. Can you defend yourself from the rebels? Maybe or maybe not --- I haven't gotten that far making this RPG yet. But I have made a lot of cool custom art for it already. Soldiers, citizens, and a lot of the normal rpg monsters with a cool twist.

Oh yesh, and dolphin snakes! They're awesome!
